Carolina High School and Academy
Dani Henderson, a Communities In Schools alumni, has transitioned from Tanglewood Middle to Carolina High School as the new student support specialist, with a priority focus on 9th grade transition. Prior to joining Communities In Schools, Dani volunteered with agencies in Asheville, NC focusing on education, at-risk youth, and substance abuse and dependency. She worked as a case manager for youth-in-crisis in a therapeutic setting, and as a student support coach at a residential treatment facility where she used a relationship-based approach to healing from traumatic experiences. Dani is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work degree from Western New Mexico University, and holds a BSW from Warren Wilson College. She is excited about the opportunity to contribute her knowledge and passion to students through goal setting and attainment, as she is grateful for the impact Communities In Schools had on her in such a transitional period of her life.
