We are accepting applications for the following positions:
Student Support Specialist – Middle School
Responsible for overall case management at a specific grade level. The Student Support Specialist will use the CIS Student Support Standards to address needs of identified youth, connect students and families to community resources, and help coordinate school-wide services. Conduct home visits with parents/guardians; develop and nurture successful relationships with agency, school staff, community partners, parents, and students; maintain rigorous electronic documentation weekly.
Student Support Specialist w/full Afterschool Program – Elementary School
Manage day-to-day operations of a holistic, school-based afterschool program for elementary school students who need additional social, academic, and behavioral support. Duties include managing a part-time staff of teachers and volunteers; maintaining enrollment of eligible students per grant guidelines; helping plan and lead engaging, hands-on lessons, activities, and field experiences; Home Visits with parents/guardians; planning and hosting family events; developing and nurturing successful relationships with agency, school staff, community partners, parents, and students; maintaining data and budget as required.
Afterschool Program Instructors – Elementary School
Lead day-to-day classroom activities of a holistic school-based afterschool program for elementary school students who need additional social, academic, and behavioral support. Duties include lesson planning and leading engaging, hands-on academic and enrichment lessons; effective implementation of classroom management strategies; developing and nurturing successful relationships with students, parents, the school community, and the non-profit agency; interacting with parents in a way that is empowering; light paperwork; monitoring, assessing, and assisting at-risk students with their academic, social, behavioral, and enrichment needs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be flexible in assigned tasks, professional, and able to work creatively in both team and individual situations.
Multiple positions are open: certified teachers, degreed teachers, and non-degreed teachers.
Programs generally operate staffing between the hours of 2:00pm-6:00pm Monday-Thursday with specific days and hours to be determined according to site needs and candidate availability.
